| Carver Pavilion designers wanted slab pavers cut cross-corner in order to achieve a two-tone paver look by assembling 2'x2' slabs out of two different triangles. The resulting sharp points on the pavers would have been too fragile for any traditional plastic pedestal system, which would have supported only the thinnest part of the tips of the pavers. Using SRS pedestals expanded to 12" x 12" in plan view, Syrtone was able to solidly support a much larger part of the triangle points, and was also able to install additional pedestals at the midpoints of diagonal joints. The result: a sturdy, handsome plaza. |
